Fish Fanatic
Well I tested the phosphates and got a reading of 1 at most (I hate trying to decide what colour matches on these kits!) which according to the documentation is the top of the ideal range.
Should be as close to zero as possible, so this is the green-water caurser. Most phosphate removers are dodgy. The sechem product you are running may help... Phosphate IMO should be kept below 0.25.
What are the phosphates in your tap like? If lower, a large waterchange may help.
What caurses phosphate? Overstocking. Loosing fish or upping filtration will be your remaining options if the seachem product fails![]()
All the best

Just had to replace all my other test kits as they were so out of date and messed up my fishless cycle. It's just one thing after another at the moment. I don't even want to think about how much money I've spent on my aquariums this year! Thanks for all your help. I've done a 50% water change and things look a lot nicer at the moment. I'll replace that test kit though and see what happens.
