I'm trying to google these, but results are for either heaters or filters :S
What brands do them and are they any good? I'm looking for an external one which can stand on the same level as the tank, with about 300lph turnover.
:thanks:

Eheim do external heater-filters, but apparently they aren't very reliable (and right enough, I usually only hear about them when they stop working).

Hydor did internal ones that I find petty good. I have 3 "Hydor thermopumps", do a great job. The filter versions just come with a sponge attachment.

Other than that, you could go with any decent external filter and add a Hydor external inline heater.

Brilliant, thanks for that tip :) That gives me so many more options. They seem only to come in 200w and 300w, would that be overkill on a 7gall?

200w would just mean that if the heater broke, things would overheat faster. But if a 25w heater was to stick on, it would still overheat the water pretty fast anyway.

I saw these in my LFS today, can't see quite how they fit, but might be an option and they start at 50w (and are cheaper :D)
