I have been thinking about upgrading to a dual tube strip for my tank, but wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the money just yet on a whole new strip or hood and strip. So, I flipped my light over today to take some measurements and to my surprise there is room under there for another bulb. There is no ballast, or starter though. So I went to the LFS to see if they could sell me the stuff to add that to my light and they told me that it was "impossible". But, they sell a state of the art lighting system that i could buy that would only cost me $200. It has actinic blue and that would be great for my TROPICAL PLANTS. I passed and drove down the street to a different fish store and ordered the pieces hassle free for only $18. Now I just need another bulb and I will be in business.

I hate when people do this, It's best all round if they just say "I honestly don't know"

I never used to even think of going to the small fish shop in my own town, Always went 10 or so miles to the larger ones but I found the small shops know LOTS as its usually the shop owner that works in them.

He is the owner. I don't think he "Honestly did't know", I think he "Honestly would rather make $200+ than $18"

Well, on the bright side I found my new LFS even though it is a little further, it is much better.
