Thanks for the info, definitely useful to know. I think I have soft water also. We'll see.

I can't believe I missed this mate.

It looks wonderful and you have a very original style. Well done indeed.

Is that C helferi left-midground and Lobelia in the centre? Both looking remarkably healthy, how old are they?

Thanks G, was hoping you'd comment! :D

Yup, that's C. helferi. It's a few weeks old. Seems to be doing well. Growth is slow, but it's such a beautiful plant.

The L. cardinalis is recent, about a week or two. The Lobelia infront of the background stuff is supposedly Dwarf version, but I'm not sure that it is....

I like the new setup better, Pseud. It looks great! The corymbosa will fill out nicely.

Thanks llj... here's an updated shot, just taken a few moments ago:

..and brought that crypt forward some:

Ooooo, that looks great! Did you see my 10g journal? I finally borrowed a digital camera. You're mentioned in the title. Go have a look! It's about bloody time, huh?

I knew the corymbosa would fill out, it's a great plant.

Thanks d00000000d. They're Hyphessobrycon flammeus, common name: (Orange) Flame Tetra, or Von Rio Tetra. Really a nice orange and yellow color once they get settled in. Can be quite active, especially in the morning, very playful with each other. Hardy too. I haven't lost one out of the 10 that I've had for over 6 months. A real nice contrast against the greens of the tank.

The moss wall is growing slowly, very sparsely. I think I screwed it up, and either didn't lay enough moss down in it, or the holes are too small. I'm currently devising a modifed version.

my imagination has vacated my brain after a long day of posting so sorry but Beautiful Tank is all i can come up with LOL

it really does look lovely mate, really vibrant and colourfull.

whats the reedy thing in the middle? i've seen plastic plants like that (not saying it's plastic) but never any real ones. top marks for a beautiful aquascape mate

It's ok  thanks! :)

It's Cyperus helferi. Quickly became one of my favorite plants. Slow growing rosette. Susceptible to algae, as I've recently found out :/

..Found a couple of nice pieces of malaysian driftwood, for $9 each! They're both somewhere between 15-24" long... at petco no less!

Looking good there pseud, keep up the good work! :)

Great find on the driftwood, I've only used Malaysian driftwood in my tank, and I've really liked the ridges, nook and crannies, and colour of all of the pieces I've bought. More than that, I feel it balances out your aquascape, as like illusion54 said earlier, I too felt that using just that one piece on the right created a sharp, attention catching division of your tank.

The tank will really look better when the giant hygro (?) and Lobelia cardinalis in the background fills out. The Elatine triandra and Nymphea Zenkeri in a couple of months time should look fantastic, although I think moving the Nymphea Zenkeri to the front a bit and making it more prominent.

Also would be a good idea because it wouldn't shade the plant when the Lobelia cardinalis grows, IMO... But more importantly, the position its placed in, its already following the golden ratio, and since it is a red plant, it will only add to being the focal point of your tank.

Good idea on removing the Cyperus helferi, I felt it did nothing for the aquascape, and perhaps, even detracted from it. Did you remove it because of the algae? I'd also lose the Vallisneria Spiralis, as I think it would look out of place in a couple of month's time when your tank matures... It might also detract from the Nymphea Zenkeri, JMO.

All in all, great looking tank, and you obviously know what you're doing. Tank will look even better when it matures, so good luck and please keep us updated with pictures...
