Just kidding about the doom part but i never bought any snails, wood, rocks or anything from a lfs that offers those things. I did buy plants how ever but there were no snails in there. This thing it kinda cool becuase its black and has a cool shell that looks like a horn. But what is he and how did the bugger just apear in the tank! Could a fish had eaten a pregnate snail and the eggs were maturing and hatching in its poop? but i have to get a good picture of it.
I'll post it within a min. or two.

alot of snails are hermaphrodites, i.e. male and female, or can change between them.

I had a couple of random snails in my tank, they laid eggs everywhere and really annoyed me so i removed them and had to clean the tanks.

any ideas on where it came from? Right now it's having a feast on the yummy poo and algae in the rocks . I akready have plans for it. If its a male, its staying as a tank cleaner, if its a female, its going to be a breeder for my puffers.

You'd be surprised - all it takes is a couple of tiny eggs and you soon have some unwelcome residents.

they are asexual which means they dont need another to breed... basically, if you leave it in your tank, in about a month you should have 20, which you can then throw in a piece of cucumber, and wait till they cling to it to eat it, take out the cucumber and dump them in for your puffer..

they are called malaysian trumpet snails... i have 3 speces of asexual snails, and they breed non stop.. i really like them, they keep tanks clean.. dont bother me one bit

They ruin all your live plants - trust me it looks awful.

mine dont eat the live parts of the plant, only the decaying old brown crap... my snails rule..

i have round shelled ones, curly round shelled ones, and malaysian trumpets..

omg it dissapeared! Do loaches take snails as a delightful meal? or plecos? I saw it the other way around at the lfs, i saw a snail eating a pleco. Kind freeked me out.

lmao a snail eating a pleco.. was it dead? ..

im not positive, but im guessing if your loaches are big enough, they could have made a meal of the snails.. my 1 inch croaking gouramis got rid of the 50 i had in their 10g tank in 2 days... so im guessing it was the loaches
