We in the UK don't take the competition seriously (I wonder why ) so the people that vote for the songs in the end are usually around the age of 10.

And if it does enter the charts, those same 10 year olds will be buying the single and putting it there. What else can explain the "fast food song" or whatever you call it, along with Mr Blobby's hit etc etc.

Anyway, the only thing that makes most of the UK watch are his royal highness' (Mr Wogan to you and me) sarcastic comments. He makes that show - I just wish the rest of 'Europe' could hear what he's saying (and how hard we're laughing).

Well considering how camp it's become, I think only kids and the gay community take it seriously (my bro included lol). My ex-boss loved it and could recite each year's winners and participants off by heart.

As far as entertainment value goes - top notch!

we wouldnt really get any more points even if we did have a good song, as timmystood said, the rest of europe hates us.
The winners are basically decided beforehand as its all based on politics and which country likes which, all the countries vote for their neighbouring countries (as long as they like each other) so because we dont have any neighbouring countries plus the fact everyone hates us then we could have the best song in the world and still be at the bottom of the table.

I dont watch it because its just turned into a big scam and its not about the music at all anymore.
