Espei's Rasbora

hey everyone, recently brought a group of trigonostigma espei, they seem to be very young at the moment because they are so tiny compared to the others i have in my tank which are quite mature looking, does anybody know when they will start to gain their reddy orange glow, at the minute its quite faint, just wondering how long it may take for them to colour up. not sure roughly how old they are but theyre very small at the moment,

Mine were completely coloured when they were 2 - 2.5 cm in length.

ahh right, thankyou for the reply. i thought there may have been something wrong with them at first, but my water i tested my water and its pretty stable
i really like how they can turn such a deep vibrant colour when they are breeding stunning fish

These fish are lovely! However, I have already had 2 occasions where the lfs confused them with hengelis, so I now have a mixed shoal of hengelis and espeis.

i think have a mixed shoal too if i was honest, i can see them being confused and mixing up the species in the lfs and its quite easy to tell when you've got a few that are very bright and vivid orange and then a few that only have a small copper ish color above the black part of their body ideally i would like them to all be espei's so i guess i'll have to buy from a reliable source next time lol
