I've had a 3 inch Acei quarentined/hospitalised for the past six days. Today it was his time to return to the tank. I scooped him in a net and placed him in a clear glass 3 pint jug. He was going from a small hospital tank bank to a 6.5ft tank.
Anyhow whilst I was equalising temperatures (placing a few scoops of tank water into the jug) I placed this jug on one of the glass ledges just above the surface. I then went to play my playstation for ten minutes, during which time I heard a faint thud/bang.
I came running in to see the jug was empty of everything but water. I frantically looked around the back of the tank, on the floor, on ledges etc but couldn't see the fish.
I continued to look and then noticed that the fish had successfully jumped directly back into the tank itself, and was once again palled up with his Acei mates.
Escape to Victory
I bet the plonker felt the four degree temperature change on impact though
