Endlers Raped Guppy

I had 11 male endlers along with corydoras and 3 guppies (1female, 2 male) and my one and only female guppy was being chased by 4 endlers. They always bumped this guppy. and sometimes it looked like they're biting (or maybe injecting sperms) . Then, Guppy got pregnant. But got a swollen gill. It gave birth one day and, after hours, it (mommy guppy) died.

Is it not really good to keep fish with almost the same gender?

the glaring issue here is that you kept 1 female with all those males, it's no wonder she was harrassed!

what you should be doing is keeping multiple females per male instead, this dillutes the attention the females receive between them.
