I read on the Beginner Questions about Endler's Livebearers, becoming quite interested. They seem like a good beginner fish as they are hardier than guppies and can actually apply to the 1" per gallon ratio. It said there they could be kept 10 in ten gallons.. is that true? Or would a smaller amount (eg, 8?) be better kept. I'd like as many as possible without any harmful overstocking if I get any.

Anyway, I just would like to know some facts like good tankmates, temperature for water, and all that jazz. I already know the basic stuff like not getting female unless you plan on breeding them, so that isn't really needed.

Thanks!

Take a look at the Endler profile in the Fish Profiles section. A lot of your answers will be there.

I'd say a smaller amount would be better. I have 5 in a 10g, and it's quite full looking in there.

I've got about 40 in my 10 gallon. I started with 8. The tank is over-filtered and well planted but I don't think endlers produce a lot of waste.
