Hi all, just recently got back into keeping tropical fish and thought id get a Biorb 60 instead for a bit of a change as Ive had a fair few tanks in the past now,...anyway so I took a trip down to my local LFS already having had 1 Male, and 2 Female Guppys in the tank doing great. My aim was to get some more female guppys in as I wanted to start breeding a few like i did last year with platys,... But when I got to the LFS and asked for some female guppys the women said they had ran out of guppys and just had some endlers, and when I explained I just wanted some more female guppys to breed quicker she said Endlers would go fine with them and breed and are bassicly the same as guppys but just smaller...so she bagged me up 4 tiny little female endlers and I took them home, I put them in the tank with the guppys and there fine however I have spoke to a friend who said not to breed guppys with endlers as you get more money for endlers and they dont eat there own fry as much plus its not a good idea to inbreead them.

Stupid LFS women said they breed together fine! but ive also been told by someone else that i should get rid of the guppys and just breed endlers but im thinking more of getting rid of the endlers as the guppys where there first!

Just wonderd if anyone has ever mixed the two and what comes out of this! or if anyone has any info on what to do, I also know the biorb 60 probably isnt the best tank/bowl to breed with but I think it will do really as the filteration system is better than my old tank, plus the fish seem to be healthy and enjoying there time init. Thanks all in advance for any replys :)

Id say keep the endlers, their much more rare then guppies, and also they breedd smaller babies, and IMO they are more peaceful,
and you could make more profit from it if you wanted too.

They're fine together, nothing "bad" will come of it. Although pure endlers are MUCH rarer and more valuable. They should readily interbreed and the hybrids aren't worth anything really.

Well thanks for that, Ill probably take the guppys back tomorow and ask for some endlers, cheers
