as the topic suggests my guppies and endlers stay at the surface or just below, is this normal? ive noticed it before but now im just wondering if its okay!

apart from the surface dwelling no other symptoms present and no other fish seems to do this just the livebearers

my temp is about 26/27...lack of oxygen maybe?

hmm any ideas?

you might want to drop the temp a little to like 25c or put a airstone in because it could be lack of oxygan

Guppies and endlers do tend to hang out near the surface more than near the bottom. It is quite normal for them. It is one of the reasons that guppies have been introduced all over the world as mosquito control fish. People figured that fish who feed so much at the surface would be good for mosquito control. The outcome has not been so rosy with guppies taking over other fish's ecological niches but that was the theory back some time ago. I keep mine at lower temeratures of 24C or less to improve their longevity but they still spend a lot of time near the surface.

my gups make it sound like I have a waterfall in my living room, they are ALWAYS at the top, with the occassional deep night rest on the bottom.,
