I started out with a Bi Orb 60 litre with a male guppy and endler male and 4 females...

I had a load of babies so I got a Vision 180 litre. Those babies are now in that tank...well for weeks now I've been eyeballing this unusual fish because he was so pretty and unique. I am sure he is a cross but I want to know what he is. I had no idea what an endler was and thought it was just a small guppy until I read more on them. Oops!

Is this what he is? I have 2 endlers in the tank now as well ...is it such a bad thing to let them cross? Opinions please but don't savage me if I have done something wrong lol...

WOW now that is nice, and a fantastic photo. never tried to cross the 2 but by all accounts its ok and he looks like hes doing great and well looked after, lools like he has lyretail markings but without the tail

i'll be there tomorrow about 3pm to pick him up, where in glous'ter do you live?

lol I do like him ....his tail is iridescent but actually a normal shape. The colouring is only on those spots that u see , the rest of his tail is see through......he is def one of my Favs! He is chasing everything in the tank so Im hoping to see what he has in store for me as far as offspring go. Once Ive got more like him you are welcome to some if u come get them lol...Ive been to your neck of the woods and it took me ages to get there...im a yank as well so I am geographically illiterate!

couldnt take one no matter wot already got about 125 fry and more due at the moment
its a quick journey from here to there if you know the short cuts, i make that journey every month to visit parents
how old is he?

Time for a new tank Id say lol

Any excuse for more fish !

He is approx 5-6 months old , I have more endlers now because that one died. He is chasing everything in the tank now so I am hoping I get some nice fish from him. I just chuck them in and let them go at it and it's produced some nice colours. I've put a few more pics on for you. The one with the arrow next to is another Fav of mine.

nice gups, would put a pic of my boys on but they were savaged by a silver molly with a bad attitude one evening, had to buy seperate tank for them.

Hmm thats odd , mine get along great ...I have a sailfin molly and she wouldn stop having babies so I got rid of the male and she and her daughter seem to enjoy the tank. I've also got a crab and he is so comical I sit and watch him for hours, I put his pic in another post but this is him

awesome......crab
i know my male molly is great with everything but she is such a pain in the arse, been like it since the first day i put her in, got my gups 6 months ago by rescuing them from horrible fish and brought them back to health then she comes along and puts them back where they started from...............B***H! thought it was my crazy neons but i caught her taking chunks out of their fins.
heres the damage she caused

Sheesh she ripped the poo out of them didn she? I'm really loving that bottom male ...what type is he a ribbon tail?
If your water quality is good etc they should heal themselves. I've had worse happen and it healed over.

If he recovers and you mate him we could def work up a trade lol

What settings do you use on your camera? Your pics are much more clear than mine , they are impossible to photograph well.

That dose look like whats called a tinger endlers which it self is a cross breed.

Personaly i dont like cross's was looking at some loverly true endlers to day as i had a emergency call out to cheltenham to day :(
And on the way home stopped in bristol to see a breeder.........

If you get true endlers plz never cross them as the blood line are getting problem with crossed already and the wild populations are haveing major problems

I Only see male endlers. I never see females. Theres not much hope saving the species from crossbreeding if they only provide the males. But I'd like a trio of pure endlers.

This is true , our local only sells Males and to buy them on ebay costs a fortune by the time you have paid shipping costs they are way over priced to buy. In my local they have a tank of about 200 all males! Not a female in site. I would be happy with a tank full of endlers , but saying that I am not even sure if the ones I buy are even pure.
