Cant gurantee they are fed 5 times a day in a main tank thought so its the hatch for them until i see them get a decent size

Well there seems to be a shortage of female endlers in the north east, non of the stores can get hold of them so you can basically charge what you want for them

Might send you some packaging and cash down for you to send me some up what type do you have and do you cross the strains or are they all one strain :good:

hope it goes well mate,

i just want to say without scaremongering, watch out for all that uneaten food on the bottom of trap, if the water circulation isnt that strong in main tank, water in a fry trap can actually hold different parameters to water in main tank (i.e. ammonia and nitrite), but i am sure you got it covered (i know from experience)

When i have used traps in the past, i used to "water changes" so to speak, i just mean tipping in main tank water 5-6 times a day into the trap to be on safe side.

All that food at bottom be doing more harm than good, i am sure its just coz you fed them 30 secs before piccies, but i just wanted to say without sounding toooooo patronising!!!!

Thanks for the heads up it was cleaned just after that pic.

But however i have just left it before with a little debree on the trap bottom and it didnt cause any distress to the fry what so ever i know its not the ideal thing to do, but i take a approach towards breeding them by if they have a bit of a rough time when they are first born they can take alot more throughout their life i feel it brings out a much hardier fish. Seems to have worked in my case scenario as i have not lost any fry and i find i can swap them between my 3 different tanks what probably do have slighty different parameters and the fish will thrive in any enviroment and do well.

You have to ask yourself when the fish was in the wild was it born in a crystal clear clean enviroment and we all know the answer to that

Although its worked out for me i wouldnt recommend doing it often and i do clean the traps still im just talking from past expereince i have had previously

:good:

well glad to hear it. I know your not a newbie! When i was raising livebearer fry like mad i tried to get some small bits of algae into their diet so they can much during the day.

I used to trim the top off my onion plants that had algae on and leave it with the fry, refreshing the "cut off's" every few days in the fry tank.
