Hi, Just a quick question.. how can you tell when an endler female is pregnant? i've bred platy's & guppie's b4 but it doesnt seem so apparant in my endler female.. a slight gravid spot, a slight bulge but nothing for sure. I just dnt want to seperate her if i dont have to. Any pictures of a pregnant endler female would be really helpful.. thank you :D

Same deal as a regular guppy as far as I'm aware. I've been breeding endlers for a year now. You'll notice a dramatic difference in belly size, and obviously the spot.

In about 3 weeks you will know for sure Max. That is pretty close to the total gestation period for a pure endler. If you have the far more common fish that is really a guppy/endler hybrid, I have no idea. I only have pure endlers. A pure endler is not a threat to its fry and has almost no ability to jump. A hybrid is more like a guppy in most ways and can often be a jumper. It would also likely have a gestation closer to 4 weeks. My pure endlers get the same squared off shape as my mollies, guppies and even my goodeids shortly before a drop. As different as goodeids are in the development of their fry, the shape of the female is still the best predictor of a drop date.
