Hey guys,
My heater just broke and I'm not able to get a new one, as my parents say "the water's fine". Even if I could buy it with my own money, they wouldn't let me. Is there any a possible way to keep the tank warm without the heater? And please don't suggest trying to changes my parent's minds. They won't.

Edit* The temperature in the house is 68 *F, and I'm not able to change that either. The tank gets cold at night, but warm during times of light. Anything appreciated!

What sorts of fish do you have?

Cover the tank at night with a large blanket to keep the heat in until you can get a heater.

seriously though, tell them how important it will be for the fish to survive, others wise overnight it will be curtains im afraid. in the mean time try filling BIG sterilised bottles full of warm to hot water, it shouldnt be too hot to burn the fish but enough to keep the tank going for a short period of time, change the water every couple of hours in the bottle and make sure there is no glue or labelling of any form on the bottles.
