My three year old brother LOVES Sesame Street, and i always have to babysit him so i end up watching it with him. Well there is a part of the show called Elmo's World (or something like that) and Elmo has a goldfish in a 1 gallon bowl!

I actually saw a pet thing on the network that broadcasts that kid's program while babysitting my cousins. They pet host guy taught Elmo that Goldfish need a 20g quarium entirely for themselves with a filter/air pump for them to be happy and Elmo put Dorathy in it.

GOSH, I never really noticed, I just saw the poor goldfish there, not to add to the fire, but, I wonder how many dorothy's they have gone through, one for every episode?

well, ive seen many different goldfish on there. i saw a common goldfish one week, and next week he had a fantail. well, of course no animals were harmed during the taping right? its not going to die in an hour in there

The only problem I'd have with it after what's been posted is that it still promotes that unbreakable tradition of putting goldfish in 1 gallon bowls.

When I was a kid I went through how many goldfish because I thought a fancy goldfish in a bowl was the best thing in the world.....and I had two fish tanks already!

It advertises it, and to the wrong crowd.

That's good of them. :)

I've seen this before, flicking through channels of course, and I thought how stupid it was for them to promote this sort of animal treatment!

ok guys, you are worrying about a goldfish in a wee bowl on a sesame street when there is a 6ft yellow bird that talks running about causing mayhem.

where are the priorities. lol

LOL

Well...the disturbing part isn't that he's talking....its that he's talking to a very strange imaginary creature that I can't type the name of!

Well...that and I still catch myself singing, "There's a hole in the bucket dear Liza dear Liza there's a hole in the bucket dear Liza, a hole"
