Elite 25w Heaters, Are They Any Good?

I have one of these heaters

the problem being it the pilot light never turns off, the instructions indicate that the pilot light will only be lit when the water is being heated. This is the second one, I returned the 1st. even at the lowest setting the temperature gets well above 30C.

The tank is 27l. the heater was sold to us at the same time as the tank, from an aquatic specialist.

The 2nd heater was tested by placing it into a bucket of water at about 40C, the heater was fully submerged for 30 mins before plugging in and it was at the lowest temp, it was left for about 2 to 3 hours but the temperature had hardly dropped and the pilot light was on all the time.

Is this normal for these heaters or do I have another faulty one?

Sounds like a duff one.... get another brand !

i got 2 elite heaters and they wrok great, all my other tanks though have JAD heaters.
