Elephant Fish?

these fish are not social but rather shy. And they are territorial espically with other elephants. 99% of the time they will not tolerate each other. They are best kept singly, but MAY be kept in groups of at least 3 or more to reduce the aggression.

I have kept 2 elephant nose fish for a little under a year, and I have only kept fish for just over a year. I have NEVER had problems in terms of not being able to compete for food, or in being shy, as they were out all of the time. I had a big problem with bullying though. They would swim around together and chase any fish that got in their way. I had to move them both to another tank in the end, and eventually sell them back to my LFS.

If you did keep them in a group of 3 or 4, what sort of tank size would you need to allow them to get out of each other's way? And are we talking a species tank here?

They are mormyrids so you cant use salt or standard ich treatment like protozin. You need a special treatmnet.
