i was thinking of getting 2 electric blue rams for my tank,is there anything specific they need, and are they good in a community tank?

how big is the tank?
what oter fish are in there?
electric rams need to be kept at 28-32C which most community fish wouldnt like but it depence what you have.

thats only thing that was concerning me,was the temp,on the thinkfish website,it says between 25-30

25 is too low, these fish come from waters with temperatures of 28-34 degrees Celsius, anything lower than 28 and it fiddles with their metabolism, read the article on web wet media about these species written by Bob Fenner.

ok,i'll forget about them, any ideas on a good centre piece fish,i don't want gouramis

apistogramma they only get to about the same size as rams and a trio 1m 2f would be fine depending on tank size?

there are other types of rams with other requirments you could have like mikrogeophagus ramirezi
or you could go for a pair of kribensis
i could list loads of nice fish but would really need to know your tank size and other inhabitants

tank is a juwel rio 125
only inhabitants so far are 6 rosy tetras
getting 6 corys on sunday
they have thes in my lfs

Apistogramma Agassizi –Fire Red

Apistogramma Cacatoides - Double Red

Apistogramma Trifasciatus

i would go for the agassizii but thats just because il like them more its up to you and which one you like the most. what is your ph?

Be careful with a lot of the apistogramma's as they might be happy with the tank temperature but most need a low pH which you may not have.

What pH and temp is your tank? Knowing this might better aid us making suitable suggestions

You may find Bolivian Rams would better suit your tank? http://www.fishforum...7-bolivian-ram/

Edit:
what is your ph?
Beat me to the pH question :)

the cacatoides are stunning as well all the apistogramma need to be kept 1 male to 2 or more females as they are hareem forming cavity brooders
