I have a 58 a litre tank and currently have a Fluval u2 but am upgrading to a ehiem classic 250 as the water quality was poor and had caused illness I am just wondering will the flow be to strong and if so is there a way I can limit it?

Can you explain the "poor water quality" as this may have had nothing to do with the filter. In a small tank like a 58 liter (15 US gallon) the U2 is far more than what I would ever use. A filter can only do so much filtration, and the current produced can be harmful to fish. It would also help to know the fish species, and if live plants are included.

And the specs say it's only 40 l/h more than the u2 plus take into account that the flow will clog eventually and spray bar plus double taps
