Got my plants from Greenline yesterday (v. good) and did a 'preliminary' planting session to wait and see which plants like my tank... Problem I've got is the super filter is a little too powerful, the spraybar is around an inch below the surface but with the jets blowing straight it reduces a bunch of Riccia to individual strands in no time and pointed down will happily start uprooting plants!

I've turned down the flow but don't want to go too slow as this must affect the efficiency of the bacterial action (I'm still cycling) and the stock levels?

Wondered if it be OK to have the end cap off the spraybar so the water mostly pours out the end - bigger bore less pressure possibly? Any other suggestions please

I have two suggestions, I've done both. One, take a small drill and add more holes to your spraybar. I have one set of holes spraying a crossed and another set of holes spraying down or on your back glass. Second, You could also get a second spray bar and some rubber hose and extend to spray bar. Both will defuse the power quite a bit.
