Eheim Aquaball 130 Suction…

Hello everybody!

I have recently purchased one Eheim Aquaball 130.
I have noticed something quite strange about it. It doesn't seem to be sucking to much of the stuff coming close to it. There are a lot of small and large particles that come close to it but they pass by the filter without being sucked into.

So for you who own this kind of Aquaball Filter, can you guys explain this behaviour, is it normal, or haven't I assemble it correctly, or… I don't know…?!?
