i have a 2215 just took it apart because my tank was a bit cloudy.Then i had a hell of a job getting the lid back on.It seemed the rubber ring was the cause of my problem.Is this normal,do i still have to get a syphon going even though i have inline taps?

It is hard for me to imagine the problem that you are having with the O-ring on the lid. Maybe a picture? Mine slides right back on and the O-ring just slides into place. Maybe lubricate a little with silican jelly. Some people use petroleum jelly.

You should be okay with the inline taps.
