Eheim 2075 Tube Sizes

I am about to buy the filter and an external Hydor heater and want to check
1) that they will fit together
2) what size hole do I need to drill in the surface that the tank will sit on to pass the pipes through.

Looking around I find that the parts diagram shows the pipes as being 16/22mm (3mm) which is very confusing.

What is the internal diameter of the 2075 tubing (and will it match with the fitting on the Hydor which I think is 16mm)

What is the external diameter of the tubing - i.e. what is the smallest hole

Do I need to worry about making the hole bigger to allow things like fittings to pass through when cleaning the pipes etc?

16 is the inside edge to the inside edge and 22 is the outside edge to the outside edge.
