Egyptian Mouthbrooders Got A Mouth Full

had a pair of egyptian mouthbrooders for a while now pseudocrenilabrus multicolour there only 1.5" at the moment but i noticed them earlier today swimming round each other in a hollowed out area and now the female has a mouth full of eggs im not sure if anything will come of it though as there only juviniles themselves

mine bred successfully at about 8 weeks old and looked after babies once they start you can;t stop them beware of male assaulting female though when shes week

mine bred successfully at about 8 weeks old and looked after babies once they start you can;t stop them beware of male assaulting female though when shes week

did some reading up before i bought them did you remove your male straight away once the female was brooding or leave them together i know she wont eat now for a few weeks and will need feeding up on worms and highly nutritious foods after did you seperate her from her fry to do this

shes in on her own now took the male out as he kept side swiping at her apparently they only have small broods of between 40-80 fry im gessing it will be nearer 40 the first time as is usually the case with younger fish

shes been in her cave all day today just been out a couple of times mouths still full to bursting

she was out of her cave all day yesterday everythings looking good so far i can still see the eggs in her mouth

there mouths are pretty transparent when holding eggs aren;t they

once they're released they grow pretty quick

yeah i can see all the eggs through the skin

probably not the right food but I just crushed flake and the ytook that

with my baby snakeheads recently I use crushed brine shrimp eggs and they were soon taking flake

great they should take micro worms then i have loads of them
