Eggs

Going good with the babies. Both sets are still looking healthy and swimming mainly around the surface. I can see little eyes now and they have gone slightly darker and abit bigger.

Now for the bad news. I thought I had at least half a tube of fry food. It ran out today, I only put a couple of drops in the tank. My local pet store doesn't sell it and can't get it till 2 weeks Thursday and there also isn't any in the 2 closest places that have a aquatics. I guess thats Pets at Home for you (don't like them anyway). I have ordered some more on next day but I think it's going to be here Monday. Long time.... Will they be ok?

I have frozen bloodworm and daphnia in the freezer. Could that be chopped up? Flake, dried krill, and other floating pellets. If I crushed them and soaked them (obviously a very small bit) would that be anygood?

I can't believe how many there is now. I thought there was around 30-40. I'm guessing now around 50-80.

Boiled eggs will hold you over, and is a very good protein source for the fry. Simply boil and eggs, take a small piece of yolk, grind it up very fine and mix it well with water. Then put it in a spray bottle and spray a couple good sprays into the tanks. Only downside it fouls the water easily to water changes are a MUST!

Maybe there is someone nearby that can give you some microworm or bbs?

I doubt it very much. I live in Gwynedd in Wales and I'm very much in the countryside. The closest LFS is 40 miles away.

Right ok, just the egg yolk. I have a little bottle for the fry food, so maybe I can put it in that. When I do a water change, what shall I do? Just around 10% so I don't disturb the water too much?

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.

I can't believe they are still going well.

I know some betta keepers in Wales, although Im not sure where they live would you like their info?

Am trying to find out if any of them are near to you, if they are ill pass on the info. Im in Bristol, so not close enough or you could have a microworm culture.

Thanks for the help mate. Funny no one even close to hear sells live food.

I could buy one of those microworm cultures off ebay but abit late for this lot.

Might be worth getting one anyway? I think the egg yolk is the best option for now. Will let you know if I find anyone nearby
