so...eggs...or what looks like eggs. sorry i can't provide a picture the eggs don't appear on the camera. they are sticking onto the glass wall and they are clear; a jelly like substance, with little white things in the middle of each "bubble". i'm thinking it's from the snail that snuck into the bag of fish i just bought a couple weeks ago. if not what could it be from? i have 8 glowlight tetras, 4 peppered cories and 1 pleco.

not too concerned but i'd still appreciate an answer asap.
thanks!!

i have ramshorn eggs all over the place, but mostly on the silicone in the corners of the tank, however it could be your corries.

Cory cats sometimes spawn on glass. Their eggs are usually a few mm's apart and encased in individual shells. Close to hatching they 'eye up' and you will see the fry eyes inside the egg. The egg is laid as a mass of nutrients (a yolk) and the embryo develops on top of it, with the gut curling around it. You will not see the embryo grow larger, you will just see a neural fold on top of the egg and then the embryo will appear to envelop the yolk.

Snail eggs often appear as a mass of jelly. Snails are hermaphrodites meaning each snail has both male and female reproductive organs and a single snail can produce eggs if it has been fertilised. Snail eggs are very sticky and clump together. They cannot be easily separated and removing them from the glass destroys them. They are clear and the snail embryo can be seen inside. It will get visibly larger and then hatch. If you magnify the eggs you can see the shell developing.

well i just checked with magnifying glasses and they just looks like little white dots with nothing else notable except that they are in individual clear jelly like balls.

should i remove it? i dont want more snails in my tank but if they're cory eggs i wouldn't mind it being there. it's pretty high up the glass. there are two spots; one's about mid tank and the other is about 3-4 inches from the top. and how long does it usually take to hatch?

A mass of jelly with little white dots in it is indeed typical of pond snails. If you have one pond snail alive in your tank the possibility becomes a probability.

Don't try and scrape it off because all you'll do is smear them everywhere. Snail eggs are virtually impossible to remove once they are laid. A cory egg will roll off in your fingers but snail eggs - yuk, yuk, yuk.
Overdose the tank on a fertiliser including copper if you don't have any invertebrates in it that you want to keep.
