What causes this? Egg-scatters, decent water flow (I am getting some fry), no special conditions, just breeding in main tank.
One possibility, my Hornwort is not melting, but seems to have less integrity. Therefore, I don't think the circulation is ideal. Should I thin the Hornwort or perhaps replace with a new less tangly batch .
Could it be something else?
Thx

Do the white fluffy fungus eggs have developing embryos in them?

Most eggs that go white and fluffy are sterile (infertile) and the fungus gets onto them and destroys them.

Having lots of fungus spores in the tank can cause healthy fertile eggs to get covered in fungus. Doing big (75%) regular water changes each day for a week can help reduce the problem because you dilute the fungus from the tank. If it gets really bad, you can strip the tank down and wash it out and set it back up. That usually removes the fungus for a while.

You can use clean dechlorinated water for eggs and it is usually free of fungus.

You can add Methylene Blue to the hatching container and it kills fungus and bacteria.
