Eel or Fish?

Hello Again, sorry to be a pest but I have had a look around the forum and on the web and I can't seem to find the answer to my question. I was wondering how much the Kuhli loach (orange & black like bloozoo2's) cost? Are they an expensive fish? :/

mmm depends where you get them from but approx £2 or £3 or so - oh that depends on the size of course. Teeny tiny babies will be cheaper.

Ps: you're not being a pest - questions are good ;)

theyre usually very cheap, ask your local fish shop and they might be able to tell you where to get some.I dont know where you are but i got 5 for under £6 i cant remember the exact price
theyre really fcute and like to dig for food at the bottom of the tank. They also love bloodworm and are one of the most peaceful fish you can buy.

Think I got 6 for a tenner. Mine hide away most of the time though (just went to get a snap and couldn't find one).

Difficult to account for them too- I moved tanks nearly a year after getting them, and there were only 5 :(

They're very placid, and seem to eat anything. Mine seem to be more active at night.

Also I notice you're from milton keynes, I've seen them for sale in the wyevale opposite xscape if you're thinking of a place to buy them from :D

We went to the Wyevale opposite Xscape today and OMG never again! The tanks were filthy there were dead fish in them! One tank had a dead fish that had turned white and the other fish were eating him ewwww

Are there not laws against keeping fish like that?? :-(

There were no Kuhli loaches and we have been to a few other places and still no joy. Are they usually this hard to track down? :/

whenever i go to a good pet sotre they have lots of kuhli loaches.

but fish availability goes by season. Part of the year you'll be able to find cories you never find otherwise and then later it will be barb season, and so on.

maybe the supplier your stores order from are out fo kuhlis

I had to search around Minneapolis for a bit to find some. And you guys got yours a ton cheaper than we did, unless im way off on conversions. I payed about $6 USD for each of my 3.

Tropical Fish Finder is a very helpful website to you. These are the results I could find.

When looking for a specific fish, you might be better off find some lfs in your area and just phoning them up first to see if they have them. Or if not, see if they can order them in for you :dunno:

Really?! It's always been ok when I've been there. The only thing that I took issue with was that they don't have anything telling the customers how huge the fish grow to, and the fact that they kept a sole in with nipping fish.

I won't go there again, cheers for the heads up.

The other good one is supposed to be maidenhead aquatics in woburn sands, I always hear great testimonials on that place.

A Betta (Betta Splendens) is (I think) what you are referring to as a "fighting fish".
But they really do need to be kept seperately - or singly in a community with suitable fish - but I'm afraid they do not go wtih guppies at all.
Yep a Juwel Vison 180 will be absolutely fine ! (I have one of those too ;) )

This is one of my females:
