Hi guys, thought I'd do ANOTHER journal lol, my Isle of the Crypts scape went down hill when I put the Crypts in my 60. I've never been that happy with the set up so I've sold the plants and started over.

I'm going with a probably useless attempt at Dutch as my lighting is the equivalent of about 1.3WPG, so I dont think most red plants will stay red but here goes.

Specs

Tank - ARC35

Lighting - 11W ARC Eclipse

Filter - 700LPH Internal so prob more like 350LPH

Substrate - Brown Florabase

Hardscape - Maybe some mini landscape rock mixed low down with the stems

Stock - 200 ish Cherry Shrimp & 3 Scarlet Badis

Ferts - TPN+ soon to be EI
CO2 - Excel

Plants -
Limnophila Aromatica
Heteranthera Zosterifolia
Hemianthus Micranthemoides
Pogostemon Stellata
Pogostemon Helferi
Hygrophila polysperma 'Rosanervig'

Pic's coming soon as the plants turn up.

Sounds interesting mate.... the hardest type of scape ive ever tried to do... even harder in small tanks... plan sounds good though :good: ... looking forward to some pics :)

Now that Ian's gone all rectangular & conventional it looks like it's down to you to do a journal every time i turn round

There doesn't seem to be too many Dutch around (unless i've missed em).
Looking forward

Consider using Alternanthera Rosaefolia 'mini' as a mid ground red plant. It's an easy red plant to keep. Good luck with it Steve!

ps Stu, i shall be rescaping, just not as often as previous! lol.

Lol I dont do that many lol I just have to many tanks at the moment lol, well 4, I'm aiming for 7 at some point, yeah I've only seen 2 since I have been on here so another Dutch cant be bad :) I'll have a look at those Ian and if I need more I'll grab some, at the moment I may have ordered too many I think lol. I also ordered an Aponogeton Crispus Red for Cuban Delight while I was on TGM :).

nice plants the Aponogeton, i still have it in my new tank, it's lost it's redness. I'm just waiting for that to take off again.

Cool, glad you kept hold of it, one of the most beautiful plants I've seen, bet your missing the lighting in your Trigon a little :)

So when you getting to plant this one Steve ?

The plants you have choosen is a nice selection, i have wanted to try Helferi for a while but just never got round to it. Will be good to see how you get on.

Lol my shameless promotion lol

Should be planting in next couple of days, hopefully not Thursday, but soon, I'm just awaiting delivery on my Limnophila Aromatica.

Yeah the helferi is nice, really fills the foreground even under low light so give it a go mate, I'd send out some in donations but it's so delicate.

I may do another nano next year so might give it a go then.

Sounds good mate, if I rescape near the time I'll send ya some.

Oh slight update too, 10 healthy looking stems of limnophila aromatica turned up today :) love the purple colour. :)
