Ebay Luminaire - Eqj Trading

Well its been two weeks and I have to say the new bulbs seem to be doing the trick. Its difficult to tell sometimes as I look at the tank daily, so I cant always tell if there has been a change, however the HC looks much greener, with more leaves that seem to be larger than they were under the previous lighting. Its still early days so I'm going to leave the current HC for another few weeks just to make 100% that it'll grow under the new triphosphor lighting, if it does its a complete strip down and all new plants.

If it doesn't work I'll bite the bullet and get Arcadia plant pros @ £18 each :S

Will keep you posted.

I have just ordered two D&D Mid Day tubes and one Aqua Flora for mine and am looking forward to comparing to my Interpet lights. It`s just a shame that EQJ are waiting on a shipment of luminaires at the moment.

Dave.

Right a final update as I'll probably rip this tank apart soon for a redo with new plants. Sufficed to say the cheapo triphosphor tubes are ok, but the HC still isn't what it should be, so I'm going to get some proper plant tubes by D&D which are cheapest from Ultimate Aquatics (cheers for the tip, Dave :)) Probably going to get 2x aquaflora and 1x mid day, but will only run one of each, three tubes would be far to much light!

Ok this is how the HC was under the EQJ supplied tubes

This is the HC now, better but not right.

This is my HC under the old Arcadia freshwater tubes, i.e. a millions times better than what it is now! Oh why did I change!

Ive just ordered a luminaire off them and just noticed that On the listing it says the bulbs are: 14,000 Kelvin tropical white. I'm no expert but doesnt this seem a bit high?

Yes very, they are probably marine tubes. Certainly need to change them if its for a planted tank.

yup, lt seems all of their tubes are 14,000K. Also one quick question, i have just order I 4x39W fixture from them, in my 45 US gallons tank. Thats is 156W = about 3.4WPG , but reflecters are included, so am i right in thinking that the total light output will increase by another 50% on top of the 156W? which would be way too much! (sorry, a bit toff topic, but I thought I may aswell ask now!)

my used them as well, and i put the osmas tube from that site as well, but my HC does not pearl at all

or i am too impatient?
