Hi am I right or wrong in thinking that dosing with things like easycarbo put liquid c02 in to the water, the reason I'm asking is that since I started to use it 3 days ago, I noticed some bubbles gathering around the surface front edge of my tank is this the c02 gas venting out

All liquid C02 is is Glutaraldehyde, it's a chemical normally used for disinfecting and sterilising hospital equipment. It is an organic compound that the plants take up and it produces those 'building' blocks in plants. It isn't C02. The film on top is most likely due to the plants having to work a little harder, the plant in turn will produce organic waste, and that waste is normally what you are describing in that pic. This is why it is important to start dosing nitrate and phosphates, as the acceleration put on the plants, can induce deficiencies.

It is normal, but it you will have to keep up with you water changes now you have started using easycarbo, due to the build up of organic waste.

Ok I've 180lts how much per week would you recommend I do in water changes

are you dosing N and P?

is so you'll need 40-50%, i normally break mine down to 2 easier water changes a week.

No I'm just dosing easycarbo at the moment as I'm following this advice from another thread a have get rid of bba algae

if it's just to rid BBA then you shouldn't really use it long term without dosing some n and p. You might find that you needed some C02 of some sort as the bba is more than likely lack of C02. It's worth investing in some TPN+ or TNC complete.

I've been looking for that but no one sells it locally

I intend to try rid the bba then I'm looking at a reshape over
The next two weeks and I will be adding more plants and leaning to a low tech planted tank but as you can see in a new world
For me that I'm lost in

I've I'm hitting the bba wrong please advise me

just remind me of the lighting...

hi, standard t8 juwel lighting 4hrs a day at the moment

cheers

Looked last night and my cryptocoryne seem to like it there standing up well rarther than sitting on the sand..

lighting time really has no baring on BBA IME, it's all about the C02 fluctuations. Stable C02 = no bba.

I have no way of knowing what my C02 levels are,
So how do I get stable C02 buy a setup ?

Your advice is welcome
