Hi i have a 55 gallon tank and I wanted to get some eartheaters. I have 1 gold severum (3") and 2 silverdollars (3"). Can anyone recomend any for begginers? thank you

Geophagus are really nice fish - not at all aggressive.

I have G. Brazilliensis which bred in a community tank quite happily and look like they plan to do so again.

Surinamensis are v good too.

(G. Brazilliensis with fry in my sig if you look close!)

I agree qith bobf, I have both of the ones he mentioned, and both are great fish. My Surinam has better color though, but only partly because it is around 6" while the other is close to 2" :)

IMO, you shold go for the Surinams, they have better color at an adult age and also have a more interesting look to them ;)

My Surinam geo, taken about 2 or 3 months ago :D

I like you picture of your Surinam Dwarfs. It looks really colorful and healthy:kewlpics:. Is there anymore replys or recommendations

Hi there,

My own favourite > Biotodoma cupido they have a lot of subtle colouration (from purples through to greens and oranges on the fins and body), as well as the blue flourescent flash on the cheeks!!

Now if I can only persuade them to breed....

Where are all the other fih that you had listed in your other post? I think you missed out some of the other inhabitants to make people give you the answer you want about the Eartheaters...
