I have many plants in a 55 gallon with 16 fish and a light on all day
but they are slowly turning brown.
They were perfect at first and thriving but now.. not at all.
Is this a lack of CO2?
or something else?
:-(

When you say light on all day what do you mean? 24 hours or just while you're awake?

It will be the light that is causing the problem. It will be driving the plants to crave nutrients and co2. If these aren't being met then the plants will start to look sickly.

Thank you so much for the tips.
My light is on 12-14 hours a day and I do not use fertilizer.

I think I might just get a co2 diffuser and fertilizer.
