My friend got me some snails to feed my dwarf puffer, but she didn’t know they were freshwater puffers, so she bought saltwater snails. Can I still feed them to the dwarf puffers? I don’t have any saltwater mix either so I have to keep them in a proper tank. They were from PetCo so I’m sure they weren’t living the best life anyway...

I would not feed saltwater food to a freshwater fish. What I did to feed my dwarf puffer was to start a snail breeding colony or just ask a petstore to give you some of the invasive snails in their tanks. After the snails establish themselves, your dwarf puffer will be able to eat the babies and the adults will keep laying eggs. This may not keep your dwarf puffer fed for very long if it is bigger. A better idea is to have one tank for the puffer and another tank with community fish where the snails breed and when it is time to feed it, you just pick out he snails and put them in his tank.
