From the top looks obese, even, because of the bulge on the side, do you know what the bulge is? Was it always there? Are you sure he isn't just suffering from a bad case of indigestion?

In the photos from the side, he doesn't actually look at all ill, just stressed.. can you post a photo of the other Grourami you have?

The fish looks in really bad shape to me.
Looks like he's far from saving. But fish can surprise you at times.

He really needs a very good med in isolation. \Havent much faith in the med you bought i'm afraid.
Lfs uk bought meds are only affective on mild bacteria infections.

its the picture that makes him look fat and the angle is making it look like theres a bulge. he is lying more on his side today and still gasping.
heres a pick of him a few weeks ago My link my other looks very bright and is now in my other tank so i can medicate this one

Bad news he died early this morning but at least he isn't suffering anymore. i have done a 90% water change and a gravel vac in the tank now and will do another tomorrow.
Lessons learned: ask for help as soon as something looks wrong and have a hospital tank (getting one very soon) and a good supply of meds ready.
