I was positive this was a female until i started taking photos. I am still 90% sure but would like it confirming if possible please. Ignore the blue background. It's being replaced with black asap

Also. Is it best to pair this one up with the opposite sex?. S/he seems perfectly happy in my tank atm. Just spending all it's time playing in bubbles or exploring every nook and cranny of the tank.
The cheeky little thing even plays hide and seek with me and the missus. If any of us pick up a camera it'll go behind a peice of bogwood and tease us. Popping up above the bogwood then falling back down again. It does it for aaaages then the second we put the camera down it flies out and starts dancing around the tank

Look female to me :) The slight damage on the dorsal fin makes things a bit harder, but the anal fin is perfectly rounded and she seems to have quite a nice tummy on her (indicative of eggs.. or a decent meal lol).

As for the blue background, I actually think it looks quite nice, black is good too though. Atm I have pale blue in one, dark blue in another and black in the final one. :D

Pairing wise... keep her as a single fish and she'll be perfectly happy, keep her with a male and she may be fine, but equally he may get overly territorial and hassle her all the time. How big is the tank?

I'm not 100% sure what she has eaten in the brief two days i have owned her. There is no way she ate anything on the first day due to my greedy pirhana...Erm, i mean Neons and blood fin Tetras. As soon as the flake touches the water they are off like i have starved them or something

Yesterday i fed Daphnia and a bit of flake at the same time. She was hiding behind a peice of bogwood but i did notice she had managed to get a few Daphnia. Again. I don't think any flake lasted long enough.

The tank is a Fluval Roma 125L.

I was going to pick up a companion for her later today but i doubt i will now. She seems to be getting on fine with all my Tetra and BN pleco.

Thanks for the reply Curiosity :)

I'm new to this, but isn't female suppose to be pale and with almost no color, that seen to colorful for a female.
