Hi everyone. My Dwarf Gourami has recently developed a strange growth on the corner of his mouth. It originally was just a lump, but has recently grown into a red protrusion coming out from where the lump was. I have no idea what this could be. I originally thought it was a harmless lump, but once this red protrusion came about, I'm a bit more concerned. The fish seems to be acting normally and is still eating aggressively, but this red lump is really bothering me. Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll post an image as soon as I find my camera.

Without a pic I dont know 100%. often bacterial infections can start with a small red lump. Does it have a white edge around the area ?

Maybe until you get some pics, treat with melafix or interpet bacterial treatment. Something like Waterlife Myxazin or Tetra TetraMedica General Tonic might be better as they are more broad spectrum.

Could it just be a battle scar ? I.e. its had a nick from another fish or an ornament or something ?

What are you water stats at the moment ? Often these infections start because of poor water quality ?

Is it flicking around alot ?
