Hello!

I know most people say that the minimum for DGs is 10 gal, but I only have a 5 gal on hand, and I want to make use out of that.
Do you think it's possible for me to keep one male and maybe a nerite inside the tank? I am able to buy live plants, driftwood, and i have a nice filter as well.

Thanks,

I wouldn't advise it, dwarf gourami can get 3+ inches so would be very cramped if not stunted in such a small tank.
How about a pair of sparkling gourami, they'd be ok in a 5 gallon

No, I wouldn't do that either. I would scrap the 5 gallon and get a 10-15 gallon and then do something with that. Sorry if that's bad news to you.

They're best suited for twenty gallons, really. A five gallon doesn't suit many fish.

No, a 5g would not be suitable for a DG. How about a betta? Or some shrimp? :)
