Dwarf Gourami Eat Cherry Shrimp?

I purchased 5 Cherry Shrimp and the next day they are gone. The other fish in the tank are red tail shark, zebra danios, odessa barb and cherry barb. I know the combination is far from ideal blame my lfs. So has any had or heard of dwarf gourami eating shrimp?

How large is your tank? the barbs should be in groups. Since you know the stocking isn't ideal, do something about it!

Anyway, no, I've never had dwarf gouramies eat shrimp thought they certainly could eat smaller ones (ie not adults). I'd blame their disappearance on the shark.

Thanks for the reply. At current there are 4 barbs 1 odessa, 3 cherry. I realize the post made it seem 1 of each. Once I learned of the porblems with my stocking I tried returning but my lfs said it was a no go due to diesease issues. I am close to having my friend purchase a tank then he will be able to take some of my load and we can both have properly stocked tanks.
