Dwarf Gorami Fighting, Help!

I had 2 male and 2 female and one male got sick and then all of them started picking on him. He eventually died but not necessarily because of the picking but they sure didn't help either. Now, the only male gourami aggressively chases the two females. I don't think he's trying to breed or anything. They say dwarf gouramis are small peaceful community fish but no. Males AND females like to nip other similar size looking fish also.

All fish nip eachother or have some form of dominant fish (except in tetras i've found) but i mean i have two males in my tank that hardly ever chase eachother or nip or anything like that.

When they say gouramis are small peaceful fish I feel that they are referring more to their attitudes towards other community fish rather than within their own species.
