You might aswell just get used to the idea that it won't happen mate. lol...

Maybe report the last post so that it flags up in the mod section?

Yeh i did that a week ago and they inboxed me saying that its currently under consideration and i didnt hear back after, so until i get a response i will keep bumping the thread so more people can vote :)

lol i really hope so, i'm like Racist towards dwarf cichlids :fun: they to me are like the difference between keeping a Chihuahua to a Rottweiler :p

The only dwarfs i would keep is Kribensis and they belong in the other section anyway :p

hahaha 'oh he so didnt!' :p

Nah seriously i just get annoyed with the 200-1 posts on dwarfs because new hobbyists always keep them first and Cichlids have got a bad name, all my local lfs's slag Cichlids off big style and act like they are specimen only, once i tried to buy an Oscar and a plec at the same time and the LFS despite lacking my experience, would not sell me them together and said the Oscar was the nastiest fish in the hobby and would eat a common plec (which was bigger than the oscar) lol......so anyway, new guys in the hobby get put off and mainly just enthusiasts keep them and post here.

I wish we could encourage some of the crowd from mfk here, because i prefer this forum, just wish it was more busy in the cichlid section (other than them #41#### dwarf posts) lol

Its also dead since Minxfishy and Star4 disappeared...come back guys!

I don't want to get involved with talking about other forums

Yes the forum does have a lot of posts regarding Dwarf Cichlids and totally agree that this section should be split into 2. It would also benefit keepers of Dwarf Cichlids as they would know exactly where to look if they needed info/wanted to share some info.

Yes agreed, i got nothing against those who keep them and it would be beneficial as there will experienced dwarf keepers in the particular forum :)

I think this is stupid to be honest. Almost all dwarf cichlids are included into the category that has already been designated. So why make another section? That is making things more complicated and completely without merit. Do the people who pose questions related to dwarf cichlids put it in the right section when posting on here, such as either African, New world ect.? Normally, yes. Do they receive the adequate help? Yes. So why fix something that isn't broken?

I find it insulting that you think my opinion is 'stupid' you might wanna choose your words a bit more carefully, as you are a dwarf keeper with a 10g tank, obviously it wont bother you, im a big tank big cichlid keeper and have no interest in dwarfs, yet my fave section is flooded with 200 posts to 1 on dwarfs, im sick of sifting through and searching back 3 pages to fins threads that are useful or interesting for me to read, you should be glad of your own particular part of the site, as minnt said, it would be mutually beneficial.

In general monster Cichlid keepers don't keep dwarfs, and the majority that do are very new to the hobby and need extra help, hence why there is so many threads about them.

I wouldnt be bothered if it was 50-50 on the posts.

I never said your opinion was stupid, just the idea. Make it as you wish. I haven't just been restricted to dwarfs. I've kept firemouths (upwards of 7 to 8 inches), Leleupi (upwards of 5), larger convicts (upwards of 6 inches) ect. It doesn't bother me because the forum is being used as it was designed for. If you seriously are having that hard of an issue finding topics you're interested in, then use the search bar. That, or the command button and F pressed down at the same time (on a Mac) or control and F pressed down on a PC (I believe) will pull up a search function that will allow you to search the webpage for keywords. I'm not saying that you should leave this forum, but there IS a monster cichlid dedicated forum.

Sarcastic, rude, insulting and delusional (saying you had a 8" Firemouth).

I have to admit, after reading all the posts, that the big cichlid keepers should have their own section. It really is a different type of fish keeper that has Oscars vs. those that keep Apistos and the like. I actually started out with the bigs, but due to currently living in a small apartment, I find myself limited to smaller tanks and therefore smaller cichlids. And I do notice a lot of posts about Rams. If so many people feel so strongly about it, I say why not? I would say if you're one of those pushing hard for the change, you should volunteer to moderate that section.

I am 100% for separate sections for dwarfs, I love to read about these monster cichlids but time after time there's several post about dwarfs
crazy.gif

Sometimes theres nothing but dwarfs, thats why I constantly ask questions about the bigger cichlids, most of the questions I asked are already there but I can never freakin find it because im being plagued with dwarfs, Ive got nothing against them, in fact Ive got a breeding pair of kribs.
