well my 72 gallon and my 55 gallon both spit out about a pound of the stuff a week.. I end of feeding it to my goldfish but I have to wonder. is it controling algea? in boh tanks algea seems to be at a minimum..

I suppose it's using nutrients at a decent rate to be growing so quickly and will reduce the lighting below. It surely can't be a bad thing with respect to algae limitation. Just keeping it under control is the biggest problem with this stuff so I've heard.

Yeh could be, as you well know its notoriously fast growing which could well be keeping the algae in check, it also blocks light from getting to the plants below, which will starve the algae of light, but also your plants of course.

:/ what their is a decent concentration i jsut net msot of it (levign a few behind) and dump it into the goldfish tank. they have it all gone in about 30 minutes. 8) way I see it is.. recycling unused fertalizer by makign it goldfish meat haaha

I tend to only remove it once it stops moving but buils up on the filter tubes and such.. if it si floatign around it can't possibly be blockign much light.. but liek i said.. once it builds up it is about a pound or so of plant.. so i put it into the goldfish to eat to their hearts delight.

I still don;t knwo of it got into my tank.. one day it jsut sore of showed up and spread exponetially from there.
