I tend to harvest it from my pond and feed it to my fish, is there a reason why i shouldnt. It usually commes complete with small shrimps snails and loahes which the fish seem to eat as well.

As long as there no leeches in the duck weed.

i think there is yes they are wormy things with sucking ends about 5mm

They could be leaches which can be potentially harmful to fish by sucking there blood. Keep the duck weed in a bowl for about 24hrs and you will be able to see them and remove them. If the fish eat them. Don't bover washing it and just feed it to them:)

I see no problem with it. If you see leaches, get rid of them, other than that, you should be safe.

The goldfish has been eating it raw from the pond for 5 years its always all gone in an hour.

In future i will try and washh the leaches out but feed the shrimps and things with the weed. Thanks

That sounds great. I might try feeding duck weed to my fish. What fish do you feed yours to?
