Ok, try to be brief. New tank, all equipment moved across from other set up, including pressurised co2. First off, tended to monitor conditions closer just to be safe. Bought a new ph test kit, haven't had one for ages, shocking ph of 5. Confused I checked my R/O, which I remineralize with discus pro, it was coming out at 5 to. That's corrected now in tank with bicarb, r/o sorted by experimenting with carbon filtered tap water, 20% gives me a ph of 6 5. So, to the drop checker. In the old tank it always showed a nice lime greenish colour to mid green throughout the day, so I thought all was well. On the new tank, new dennerllle indicator in is blue all the time. I thought the indicator showed ph brought about by carbonates in the water derived from co2. Have I got this wrong? All things point to the fact I must have as in a ph of 5 surely it should have shown yellow? Do I increase my bubble rate, which I'm guessing is gonna lower my ph a bit, waiting for the checker to go green? Or do I do away with the checker, check my ph with a kit and set my co2 to a bubble rate per second that is correct for the volume?
