I've had my Betta Drifter for a year now, and he's been in this tank for that entire time. I use it as a plant nursery, and that's why it looks so overgrown, I'm growing more plants for my 30 gal.
Plants include:
-Java Fern
-Rotalla
-'Mini' Valisnera (sp?)
-Java Moss
-Anubias (Sp?) On drift wood
-Some sort of Algae

This tank also includes Cherry shrimp and two varieties of snails acquired from plant purchases that they hitch hiked on.

I have some pictures of what it looked like a few months back and hopefully I'll eventually get around to uploading those

Also, here's a picture of Drifter; (his fins aren't in the best condition, I'm trying to get him on a more regular water change schedule. I finally got a steady job so I should be settling into a steady schedule within the next few weeks.)

is that jungle val in the foreground? looks like anacharis on the driftwood

It could be for all I know, LFS aren't known for being accurate with their descriptions all the time :p
I'm extremely impressed with the substrate I have though, theres no CO2 and I haven't added ferts in a month or so.

Your betta has fin rot. Keep the water around 80-82°F and do at least twice weekly changes.

Now that we have that covered, love the tank! And he is gorgeous!

Yeah, he is a pretty high strung boy, if the water conditions are off even slightly he gets fin rot. Though I guess that's true for most bettas.
I'm going to give his tank a good cleaning and a little bit of a makeover/trim this week. Perhaps I'll add some antibiotic to ensure he doesn't get a secondary infection. And some new food would probably make him happier and healthier, I've almost finished the little 5 g little bottle of food (Which I bought when I bought him. So its probably lost most of it's nutrient value.)

Such a pretty boy :3
I love the over planted look
