ok, i've decided to start over in fishkeeping and set up a Lake Malawi cichlid aquarium. The only problem is that I have no idea how to stock it. My aquarium is a 90 gallon rectangular, with an eheim 2026 filter, so I think it can handle the job. I hear that its best to everstock these creatures, so how many of what mildy agressiv e mbunas could I put in this aquarium? Also, what sort of fish should i use for algae control? ( my LFS uses golden algae eaters, but im not so sure). Im also thinking of converting to a wet/dry setup. Would that be a better choice for this project or not? Thanks for all of your input!

If you want a milder cichlid tank then look at species like Lab. Caeruleus, Pseudotropheus Saulosi, Iodotropheus Sprengera, Cynotilapia Afra, Pseudotropheus Acei.

What you choose is largly personal opinion. I like to take advantage of larger tanks by keeping species in larger groups rather then trying to fit in more species. Altogether you're looking at about 20-25 fish for the tank.
