I've finally decided that im going to sell my 65G tank that is housing only a golden gourami and a bn plec right now... after the great tank disaster that made me loose all my fish last month ive decided its causing to much stress on me right now to keep it going.

i have a spare 10G in the basement that i want to set up for these 2 guys untill spring time when im ready to purchase my 30-40G tank to replace the 65G.

my pleco is about 5 inches(full grown) and my gold gourami is about 3inches( still growing i think)

will these guys be alright for a few months in a 10 gallon tank????

i also have another 10G tank running right now with just 4 WCMM- (this tank also just lost the rest of its stock last week due to some sort of white powder deisese (didnt look like ick or columinaris so im not sure but the wcmm are fine)

anyways since that tank has 4 WCMM now running with no heater in it i may pick up ONE fancy goldfish in a month or so since there also cold water and since ive never had a goldfish, id like to see how they are.

i know goldfish need lots of room but would it be REALLY bad to keep ONE fancy in a 10 gallon filtered tank and will they get on with my white clouds??

if people can keep them in little bowls with no filters or air im sure it cant be that bad to have one in a 10G..

any help or advice is helpful as i just want the best for my fish. Thanks

I'd think both ideas would be fine... the fancy goldfish would probably eventually need an upgrade, but for a few years, a 10 gal should be fine since it is so understocked.

Plec and gourami should be fine for a short time in the 10g. As long as you intend to get the goldie a larger tank in a few months they you should be ok, but not for too long.
