you come across a hard to find fish, which could bump up the numbers of something you already have, only to see signs of disease in the tank and consequently run a proverbial mile?
Came across a tank of "Mackeral Barb" (Barilius spp.) at Cadnam today, where my four B. canarensis and three B. dogarsinghi came from last summer, only to find ich spores in their fins.
Having looked at my existing ones in the 5-footer when we got back, it looks like they were a different species anyway, so I should not get too down... I can forsee a trip to Maidenhead Aquatics in Findon coming, who allegedly have several Barilius species, as I would love to give them a good sized group.
